B-FRESH Premise Plumbing
This lab-scale research project assesses the water quality output from various aged premise plumbing stock including copper, galvanized steel, and PVC pipes. Waterflow is controlled with a potentiometer flow-meter for three rates and water quality is measured for conductivity, pH levels, and chlorine. The outcomes of the study inform aspects of an integrated premise plumbing sensing decision support tool and future field experiments for aged housing stock and/or zones with long vacancy seasons in the City of Tucson.
