TOY: Japan EXPO 2025
TOY is a set of eight cubes that work together as playful building blocks to create a range of sounds and colors for a fun interactive experience. The concept is rooted in both color and music theory. Using three primary colors for the base cubes, secondary colors will emerge when put in contact with an adjacent cube. The set of eight blocks forms an octave and the tones will range and harmonize based on adjacent cubes in contact with each other. The work is dependent on sensing and actuation wireless microcontrollers pre-programmed with these rule-sets - but the combinations for invention are almost endless.
